My second day in Houston, I woke up EXTRA early to prepare for the day's event. As I got dressed I pondered about a lot of things. "What will I say?" "How will I say it?" "How will they relate to what I am saying?" "Will I be nervous?" I thought about my time in high school and how I felt when we had guest speakers, it was definitely not always exciting. But then a calmness fell over me. I mean, like all of a sudden everything was fine.
I spoke to three different groups of students and each time, it felt natural. It was almost as if I'd been doing this for years. It was so comfortable it scared me.
I had prayed that this would go smooth and according to God's will. I left understanding the scripture "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,". God blew my mind!
This was a brick in my path that I will never forget. I met the most amazing children and staff. The hospitality was amazing. I gave to the children and they gave more than I knew I needed to me.
It is amazing when you are finally able to see God's purpose for your life come to play. I don't take for granted the anything. This may mean nothing to a lot of people but it means the world to me. To know that God loves me so much that he uses me is crazy humbling.
So, wherever you are right now know that that is not your final destination. God has a plan for each and every one of us. The key to unlocking this purpose is obedience. It is not until you surrender your will to his that you will reap all the great things he has in store for your life.
I never imagined my life would change so quickly. But I've been told several times we are not waiting on God, he is waiting on us. Stop making God wait for you to "get right", he never asked for your perfection he asked for your effort.
