PRUNED

There are many times in our lives when we get to a place where we no longer understand. We lack the ability to see past the situation that we are in and become lost in the fog. We forget that there is a process that we must endure to come out as beautifully whole as God has intended for us to be. That, if we are to ever have and appreciate great things we have to know what it feels like in lack. We forget that we have to be pruned every once and awhile.

PRUNE
verb
pruning
  1. trim (a tree, shrub, or bush) by cutting away dead or overgrown branches or stems, especially to increase fruitfulness and growth.

cut away (a branch or stem).

reduce the extent of (something) by removing superfluous or unwanted parts.

We are creatures that will never ever be completely put together, it is our goal to get there though. Every day of our lives is another mystery on our journey. Throughout our journey we pick up some things. Some things, we've become blind to.

God has to step in and prune us, it doesn't feel good. In fact, it is very uncomfortable but it is also very necessary. We feel so down on our luck that we begin to ask, "Why?" Why me? Why now? What did I do so bad? The answer is God chose you, it is the season, and you did nothing outside of what he knew you'd do.

The pruning process is one that we all have to go through and it is not one that favors some more than others. The raw truth is that God puts us in uncomfortable situations time after time because there is still a lesson that we haven't learned. And maybe, just maybe, that lesson is to trust solely in him. To not put our faith in men or this world so much that we stop depending on him to work our lives the way that he created them to work. The lesson is to, be still.
